contemplation
all the stars
came crashing
down
in my hand

even the fish
are scared
drunk
on wine

while grabbing
for
the moon
dripping rain -
the silence
between each drop
scarecrow hands
fan the earth -
bones picked clean!
gazing at the moon
red wine
and the stars
for company
all things
are where
they should be
sparrows -
beneath the table
pecking concrete
winter ending -
some leaves
refuse to fall
in the garden
blackbirds
stealing worms
